An open Udupi Sugandha keepsake box with hand-rolled aroma sticks

Long before aroma sticks, Udupi's households prepared a room for a new mother and her baby with dhoopana, gently smoking lavancha and other herbs through the room.

Udupi Sugandha aroma sticks are made with herbs and ayurvedic plants that Udupi's households have used since ancient times. At the heart of that tradition is dhoopana, a deep practice in Ayurveda: herbal fumigation.

A tradition for new beginnings

In many of Udupi's homes, the room where a new mother and her baby rest has long been prepared with dhoopana. Lavancha and other herbs are gently smoked through the room, filling the space with an earthy calmness: a quiet ritual of care, passed down through generations.

From the dhoopa bowl to your home

We wanted to bring that same feeling to the space you come home to. Every Udupi Sugandha aroma stick begins with the same herbs, rolled by hand in Navunda village with a coconut leaf midrib, honey and the flowers that adorned the Gods of Udupi.

Light one when you come home, and let the day go.
